Sara Somogyi, Director of Arcadia Recreation and Community Services will be the guest speaker at Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Forum at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, sponsored by Singpoli.
Somogyi will spreak on the Recreation and Community Services Department in Arcadia, their programs, activities and services. She will also discuss the collaborations they have had in the past with local businesses and organizations as well as the new projects that are also just beginning to update the Recreation and Parks Master Plan, which will require a lot of input from the Arcadia Community.
Sara Somogyi has served as the Director of Recreation and Community Services in the City of Arcadia since April 2008. She has worked over 25 years in the recreation field. Ms. Somogyi’s previous work experience includes a few other local municipalities, including the City of Diamond Bar, Brea and West Covina; while her start in the field began with a non-profit organization working with children at a Boys and Girls Club in the San Diego area. Ms. Somogyi has served on a number of Boards and Commissions with the California Parks and Recreation Society, being an active member in the field’s professional organization. Ms. Somogyi has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Behavioral Sciences from California Polytechnic University, Pomona and a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership with Woodbury University.
