Open a Calif Welcome Center

If you want to open a tourism center, now is the time to make your proposal.

The California Division of Tourism has posted a Request for Proposal (RFP) to designate new California Welcome CentersSM (CWC).

The California Division of Tourism’s goal is to designate a California Welcome Center (CWC) in each region/area recommended in the 10-year strategy adopted by Visit California – Central Coast, Central Valley, Desert, Gold Country, High Sierra, Inland Empire, Los Angeles County, North Coast, Orange County, San Diego County, San Francisco Bay Area, and Shasta Cascade.
There are currently 20 CWCs throughout California.

The CWC program provides a statewide network of readily accessible and recognizable visitor information centers that encourage tourism in California and provide benefits to the state economy.

Preference will be given for designations in Los Angeles County, Needles, and Yreka.
The Notice of Intent to Propose is due to the California Division of Tourism by August 13, 2012.
