John Morris and Shinju Morris of Arcadia Chamber member firm Morris & Morris, a Law Corporation, 150 N. Santa Anita Ave., are participating for the second year in the 15th annual Arthritis Foundation California Coast Classic 525-mile bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles from September 26 through October 3, 2015.
In addition to raising awareness about arthritis, the funds raised by the cyclists will help the Arthritis Foundation, Pacific Region, support research and community-based education programs for men, women and children affected by arthritis.
Although some of the riders are athletes, others just started training to support the cause. Many of the riders suffer from arthritis, which is the most common cause of disability for people in the United States, affecting more than 50 million people, including 300,000 children.
Shinju Morris has a form of rheumatoid arthritis called ankylosing spondylitis. Now that she is under the regular care of a rheumatologist, she has mostly good days but the cause is near and dear to her heart. One of those good days was early last year when she and John were on a large organized ride in Palm Springs. They saw the CCC booth and inquired about the event.
Although they figured it would be one-time event, it wound up being such a great ride for them, and for such a wonderful cause, that Shinju told me their mindset now is to do it every year that they possibly can even though it means they basically have to shut down their office for the duration of the trip.

Shinju shared the following…
Alarming Facts about Arthritis:
