Don’t know about you, but I can’t believe it’s the Fourth Quarter of 2018, and Halloween is only a few days off! And if you have some procrastination issues (like some of my best friends), now-or-never time is fast approaching for the current year! Many of us make all kinds of promises to ourselves in January and, honestly, if we take on even one or two of those resolutions, our actions can have a major impact on our lives! If one of those promises (remember to write ’em down now or in January) involves health, and you’re fortunate enough to have some health insurance benefits… the time to act is now! We encourage you to use your benefits; otherwise, you’ll lose ’em and the $1,000-$2,500 available to you from your annual health investment. Here at Temple City Dental care we see you as family and we want the best for you; please consider taking advantage of any health benefits you’ve already paid for!
A New Face – Welcoming a New Family Member!
Guess what? We a have a new face in our Hygiene Department. Meet Louie Diaz, RDH! Louie’s a product of Loma Linda University’s excellent hygiene program; he’s been providing outstanding dental hygiene care for 17 years and currently works with two gifted periodontists. Louie is married, has three children ranging in age from elementary school to college, and teaches Sunday School along with his wife. Louie is laser-certified, gentle, and very thorough. And most importantly, for our practice, Louie retains a great sense of humor supporting a personality that makes patients feel safe & liked on “hello”!
New Equipment – Staying Up to Date on Available Dental Technology!
So if you’ve had a crown procedure or received Invisalign® orthodontic care within the last two years or so, you know we’ve gone next-level digital. We now have an iTero® Element scanner on each side of our expanded space. Gone are the days of a mouthful of goop! And what’s cool is the up close and super-accurate view of what’s happening in your mouth. We’ll soon be providing this service at no out-of-pocket cost for every new patient and at each comprehensive exam.
And we’re also upgrading our Hygiene toolbox with the Florida Probe; soon we’ll also be implementing Perio Protect. The Florida Probe records those numbers you hear during your hygiene visits, creates a personalized hygiene report, and allows the whole process to move forward without the aid of a dental assistant. Perio Protect is a new system where we can scan your upper and lower teeth to create super-accurate clear trays that carry a therapeutic concentration of hydrogen peroxide into areas diagnosed with gum disease. Did you know a full 50% of heart attack victims have unmanaged periodontal disease?
A New Book! Ever been interested in the writings or musings of Dr. V?
Dr. V has just released his third book, “The Most Interesting Dentist in the World”! The book is essentially a compilation of weekly lighter-side essays that Doc Von Bulow has written for local newspapers over the last 20 years. Warning: Dr. V is opinionated and a major USC Trojan Football honk. Available for free to all patients (including Bruin fans! haha).
Again, thank you for being a valued patient at our office, and we hope everybody has a safe & happy Halloween with their friends and loved ones!
