Scott Hettrick, Chief Executive Officer
Scott moved his family to Arcadia in 1991, became a member of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2006, was named Business Person of the Year in 2008, and co-chaired the Government Affairs Forum for five years before being hired as full-time CEO in March 2011. He started the ArcadiasBest.com news web site and companion e-newsletter in 2007, and the non-profit community events group Arcadia’s Best Foundation in 2010, which created the Patriotic Festival and parade in 2011, and annual One Community, One Book programs. As a Board Director of the Arcadia Historical Society, he chairs the Historical Marker Committee that installed the Chamber’s 75th Anniversary marker, among many others. He is a founding member of the Arcadia Towne Center Business Association, formed in 2010, and served on the Arcadia Library Board of Trustees from 2008-2012, including as Chairman in 2011-12. In recognition of his work with Arcadia’s Best, the Historical Society and Towne Center, Scott was honored with the American Planning Assocation‘s Distinguished Leadership Award — Citizen Planner by both the Los Angeles and California chapters in 2011. Scott is also a 25-year entertainment business journalist, including 12 years as editor/reporter at industry trade newspapers The Hollywood Reporter, Video Business, and Daily Variety. While at Variety, he created a $1 million spin-off DVD Exclusive publication and annual awards program in Hollywood, the latter of which he produced with Dick Clark for a primetime run on the FX cable network. Bonnie Wilbur, Office Manager
Prior to joining the Arcadia Chamber staff in 1998, Bonnie worked at a Credit Union, Insurance Co., Community Hospital and other positions that capitalize on her customer service skills. She enjoys meeting and helping people which makes working for the Chamber of Commerce an ideal fit for her. As Office Manager, Bonnie is involved in every aspect of the Chamber — from managing the day-to-day responsibilities, including bookkeeping and web site and e-mail management, to providing support for the Government Affairs Forum and handling high-profile events. Cherry Liu, Administrative Assistant
Cherry joined the Chamber staff in 1998 and provides part-time internal office support to the Executive Director and staff. Jan Shimmin, Event Coordinator
Jan has lived in Arcadia since 1976 with her husband Lee, a local business owner and past president of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce. She has had many careers (Teacher; V.P. Banking; Mother; City Commissioner) and was enjoying her retirement when her husband convinced her to get involved with the Chamber. In 2004, Jan started her fifth career as the part-time Event Coordinator for the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, and also provides support for the monthly board meetings.
