Future of Work Educational Series presents Building Workforce Pathways for Disaster Recovery
Learn strategies to create pathways for a resilient rebuild.
As the Altadena and greater Pasadena region continues its recovery from the Eaton Fire, thousands of decisions are being made about rebuilding, infrastructure, services, investment, and the workforce needed to make that recovery possible.
Future of Work Webinar: Building Workforce Pathways for Disaster Recovery
October 29th, 2026 | 10 am – 12 pm PST
This panel will examine how colleges, employers, workforce organizations, public agencies, and community partners can work together to connect people to the careers emerging from recovery.
We’ll discuss where the greatest workforce needs are developing, how education and training programs can keep pace, and what employers need from workforce partners.
Whether you develop workforce programs, hire talent, teach students, or shape public policy, you’ll leave understanding where recovery and workforce opportunities intersect.
Featured panelists from across county government, utilities, construction and trades, and the rebuild effort will be announced soon.

Why a Webinar Series?
In 2026, the Future of Work Conference became a three-part webinar series. The second session, Building Workforce Pathways for Disaster Recovery, took place on September 3rd.
We are excited to continue the conversation with the final installment of our webinar series and facilitate the discussion of how we, as institutions, business owners, and community members, can play a role in the recovery of the Altadena community.
Looking forward to seeing you on October 29th,

Dr Salvatrice Cummo
Vice President, Economic and Workforce Development
