LA Arboretum celebrates Dia de los Muertos on October 25th
Join us for our first ever celebration of Día de los Muertos! As twilight falls, our garden transforms into a luminous celebration of remembrance through art, music, botanical landscapes, and reflection.
First guests discover a mystical garden filled with immersive activations and experiences before gathering at a community altar for a moment of reflection while communing with spirits and nature.
Gently moved back into land of the living, guests are entranced by rhythmic music that leads them into a vibrant magical marketplace on our event lawn — showcasing local Latin-owned makers, artists, food, and drinks.
Painted faces and Catrinas dance around the garden soaking in a night to remember. Families and friends can connect through creative activities honoring this holiday’s beauty and meaning. Together, we celebrate life, honor those we remember, and create meaningful connections across generations.
Families are invited to experience the celebration together, with hands-on children’s crafts and creative activities offering younger guests meaningful and playful ways to connect with Día de los Muertos traditions. Face painting is available for purchase.
Featuring community collaborator, Aurora Anaya – founder of Bloom Wild Bookshop. A list of of other participants and vendors will added soon.
