Arcadia Announces 2023 Senior of The Year as Joanna Liang
ARCADIA’S 2023 SENIOR OF THE YEAR
ABOUT THE HONOREE
March 26, 2024 – Each year, The City of Arcadia’s Recreation & Community Services Department asks for nominations for an individual who is 55+, lives in Arcadia and has contributed to better the Arcadia community. The nominations are received and put to a vote with the Arcadia Senior Commissioners. Congratulations to the 2023 Senior of the Year, Joanna Liang. Since the mid 1990s Joanna has volunteered in many capacities ranging from Board Member to President of many Arcadia organizations. Joanna has volunteered for many Arcadia Community groups such as the Arcadia Unified School District Booster Club, Mentor Mom, Arcadia Chinese Association, Arcadia Library English Conversation Class Chair, Arcadia Library Foundation & Trustee, the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage, Las Alas, Arcadia Women’s Club, and many more. The City of Arcadia would like to congratulate Joanna for her efforts for going above and beyond on her many contributions and accolades within the community. Joanna will be honored at the 2024 Older American Recognition Lunch hosted by Los Angeles County Commission for Older Adults and the Department of Aging & Disabilities on May 16, 2024, at the Dorthey Chandler Pavilion. She will also be honored at the Arcadia City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
