ARCADIA APPOINTS PAUL CRANMER AS DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS SERVICES
October 18, 2021 – Arcadia City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto has appointed Deputy Public Works Director Paul Cranmer to the position of Director of Public Works Services. He will succeed Tom Tait who announced his retirement in October 2021.
“I want to congratulate Paul on his appointment as the Director of Public Works Services,” said Mayor Sho Tay. “Our Public Works Department is vital to the quality of life in Arcadia. Paul was the obvious choice to lead the Department.”
Mr. Cranmer began his career with the Department of Public Works Services in 2016 as Deputy Director. Over the past 5 years, he has been responsible for the maintenance and operations of City facilities and infrastructure, including building maintenance, street improvements, storm water and sewer networks, Arcadia’s urban forest, City parks, and fleet maintenance.
“Paul is singularly qualified to lead our Department of Public Works Services,” said City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto. “His background and experience is ideally suited to manage a complex department responsible for Arcadia’s infrastructure, facilities, greenspaces, and water and sewer services, among others. Paul is a great addition to the City’s executive team.” he added.
Prior to his service in Arcadia, Mr. Cranmer was the Community Services Manager for the City of Claremont and was a Public Works Inspector for the City of San Marcos. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Paul and his wife have a young daughter and enjoy spending time traveling and playing sports.
“I am honored to be the City’s next Director of Public Works Services,” said Deputy Director Cranmer. “I appreciate the support and confidence of the City Manager and City Council, and look forward to serving as Director alongside a highly motivated and dedicated staff.” For more information about the Public Works Services Department, please visit ArcadiaCA.gov/publicworks.
