CELEBRATING ARCADIA’S 121ST ANNIVERSARY
ARCADIA, CA – On August 17, 1903, Arcadia was officially incorporated as a city in Los Angeles County. This year, Arcadia has a variety of exciting ways to commemorate this milestone, including art, cupcakes, drinks, music and much more!
Community Art Contest
In celebration of its 121st anniversary, the City of Arcadia launched an art contest inviting community members to share their vision of what makes the City unique. From the stunning mountains to the iconic Route 66 bridge and the majestic Thoroughbred horses, community members showcased their creative visions. The City of Arcadia is thrilled to announce that Vivien Watts, Arcadia resident, submitted the winning design!
Summer Concert & Movie in the Park
Join the City of Arcadia at the last 2024 Summer Concert & Movie in the Park, on August 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m., for a chance to receive exclusive commemorative items featuring the artwork! Visit the City of Arcadia’s booths during the event to receive a free cupcake and commemorative stadium cup filled with drinks donated by California Pizza Kitchen, Denny’s, Goki Cafe and Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea.
Special Discounts to Celebrate
With the commemorative stadium cups, there will also be special discount cards to encourage residents to continue celebrating all month long by visiting local businesses and redeeming limited time offers. Participating restaurants include California Pizza Kitchen at Santa Anita, Chick-fil-A at The Shops at Santa Anita, Denny’s, Flavor Fusions Café, Hyper Coffee, Little Provence Café and Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea.
All giveaway items are limited and first come, first serve. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. and the movie will start at dusk. Kids can enjoy the fun zone area with plenty of games, crafts and activities. The Summer Concert & Movie in the Park will be held at City Hall Lawn, located at 240 W. Huntington Dr., between City Hall and the Police Station. Free parking is available at City Hall and Santa Anita Park, Gate 5.
