City of Arcadia’s Director of Recreation and Community Services, Sara Somogyi, to Present Recreation and Community Services Department Guide
Arcadia, CA – The City of Arcadia’s Director of the Recreation and Community Services Department, Sara Somogyi, will be presenting the latest Recreation and Community Services Department Guide. Sara will provide attendees with copies of the guide and discuss its contents, highlighting the various programs and services available to the community.
Since 2008, Sara has played a vital role in enhancing the community’s recreational programs and services, fostering engagement, and enriching the quality of life for Arcadia residents. Prior to her tenure in Arcadia, she built a distinguished career in municipal recreation, serving the Cities of Diamond Bar, Brea, and West Covina. Her commitment to public service began even earlier with the Boys & Girls Club, where she cultivated a passion for providing meaningful recreational experiences to youth and families.
Sara’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership. Originally from San Diego and San Francisco, she moved to the area to further her education and has since dedicated her professional life to serving communities through innovative and impactful recreation programs.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sara is also an avid animal lover. While she has a particular fondness for cats, her passion for animal welfare extends across all species—though she insists that’s a story for another time!
