Foothill Unity Center Executive Director to Speak at Arcadia Community Coordinating Council
Arcadia, CA — The Arcadia Community Coordinating Council is honored to welcome Jhoana Hirasuna, MSW, Executive Director of Foothill Unity Center, Inc., as the featured speaker at its upcoming meeting on May 5, 2025..
With over two decades of experience in social services, Hirasuna leads one of the San Gabriel Valley’s most impactful nonprofit organizations, dedicated to empowering low-income families and individuals with essential resources and comprehensive support. Her presentation will focus on Foothill Unity Center’s mission, programs, and its ongoing efforts to address homelessness, food insecurity, and other pressing community needs.
Hirasuna’s commitment to social impact is reflected in her work at organizations including Pacific Clinics Passageways, the Salvation Army Pasadena, and Shepherd’s Pantry. A first-generation college graduate, she holds a B.A. in Sociology from California State University, Fullerton and a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University. Her dedication to service began during her youth in Garden Grove, where she was involved in Key Club, the National Honor Society, and the Associated Student Body, eventually serving as senior class president.
In addition to her professional role, Jhoana actively serves in the Pasadena Host Lions Club and the Glendora Kiwanis Club. She lives in Covina with her husband, Darin, and their son, Dylan. Outside of work, she enjoys baking and cake decorating, creative pursuits that allow her to unwind and connect with family and friends.
