Cultural Significance of Plumeria at Los Angeles County Arboretum
Plumeria plants are native to the Caribbean (especially Cuba), Mexico, south to Colombia, Venezuela, and Guayana. The beautiful and fragrant Plumeria has worldwide appeal but is held in high esteem in Hawaii, Polynesia, Thailand, and India, to name a few. The LA Arboretum’s mission in holding a festival dedicated to this amazing plant is to provide a broad cultural experience, exploring the diversity of plumerias and their appeal. Enjoy tours of the grove, talks about plant care, and purchase your own Plumeria plants! Experience musical performances and live dancing from countries where Plumerias are culturally important.
Come be Plumeria-ized at the 12th Annual Plumeria Festival! Only at the LA County Arboretum on July 17th and 18th. A unique experience for all ages!
