WE’RE LOOKING FOR THE MAKERS OF TOMORROW AND GIVING THEM $50,000 STEM SCHOLARSHIPS
The Edison Scholars Program recognizes students that want to be makers of tomorrow – the dreamers, inventors, guardians, and pioneers – those that dare to be great.
This year, Edison International will award $50,000 scholarships to 30 high school seniors who want to make a difference in the world by studying science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) in college, and empower them to change the world.
From preventing greenhouse gas emissions to increasing access to clean energy in underserved communities, real issues need bright ideas to create change. This is a chance for students to stand up, advance their education, and be part of the solution.
Application period: Oct. 3 – Dec. 9, 2022
Applicant requirements:
* Students must live in Southern California Edison’s service territory<https://www.scholarsapply.org/uploads/edison/service_territory.pdf>.
* Must be a high school senior with at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA
* Plan to pursue studies in eligible STEM fields at a four-year accredited college or university
* Show financial need

2023 Summer Internships
- Hiring 195 interns
- 2.8 GPA or higher
- Must be enrolled in a 4-year university
- The internship has a start date of May/June 2023 and end date of August/September 2023
- Certain positions require testing
- 24 different types of professions.

Edison International Lineworker Scholarship
The $1 million scholarship program is funded by shareholders, as well as support from IBEW Local 47, and awards up to $25,000 per recipient. The program provides tuition, tools, and support services needed to complete required training at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College. Graduates will be eligible for an entry-level groundman position at SCE once they complete the Powerline Mechanic Certificate program, obtain a Class A driver’s license and complete all SCE pre-employment requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
- Self-identify as Black or African American
- Enroll at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College for fall 2022
- Enroll in the Powerline Mechanic Certificate Program
- Have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to obtain a Class A license (must be 18 years of age)
