California has always been known for its innovative spirit and propensity for discovery. As fire cleanup efforts continue, industries are stepping up to bring their newest and best innovations to the recovery process. And as new opportunities appear, so does the need for an appropriately trained workforce.
In the energy sector, recent developments in zero-emission electric vehicle (ZEV) technology are aligning with state policy: reducing emissions to mitigate future fire dangers. To accomplish these goals, California is expanding its ‘green transportation’ initiatives to lower CO2 emissions by increasing the number of ZEVs and the charging stations they need to operate. The consequence is an emerging workforce in the ZEV and electric transportation industries.
