Santa Anita Park has teamed up with Insomniac, a major promoter and event organizer, on a spectacular event coming to the racetrack, beginning on New Year’s Day evening.
Insomniac is one of the largest promoters in the world, who creates thoughtful experiences with world-class productions. For the first time ever, Insomniac is bringing its unique vision to a special COVID-safe experience for the whole family.
The Electric Mile is a drive-thru audiovisual journey that transports you through multiple worlds, which feature over 450 installations made of 5,000,000 lights extending over 180,000 linear feet. The experience will be enhanced with a carefully curated playlist transmitted through your radio, which will be synchronized with the lighting throughout the hour-long journey. It will be an experience unlike anything you’ve seen before!
The event’s current schedule will be running Thursday through Sunday, from 5pm to 10pm, between January 1st and February 28th. (Should restrictions from LA County Public Health lessen, that schedule may be revised.)
Insomniac is very excited to come to a new venue and thinks what they already know: there is no more beautiful event location that The Great Race Place.
The event is designed to have no impacts on neighboring properties. Since the audio is confined within the car, there will be no sound issues. In addition, since the event is ticketed for specific times, there will be no crowding issues or significant traffic. With its location next to the grandstand on the south side of the property, although the lights may be visible, we do not anticipate any kind of impact on the local area other than people having a great time experiencing this event.
