Supervisor Kathryn Barger Issues Statement on Arcadia Child Abuse Case
Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger issued the following statement today:
“What investigators described today is horrifying. I am heartbroken for the young children who had to endure this trauma at the hands of those who were supposed to care and protect them. I commend District Attorney Hochman, Sheriff Luna, the Arcadia Police Department, and our federal partners at the FBI for the painstaking work that led to today’s announced charges. Cases like this–with hours of video and multiple languages–take time to build properly, and I appreciate everyone who worked hard on it.
The charges filed are allegations, and the couple is entitled to their day in court, but I trust the justice system to treat the evidence seriously. My thoughts remain with these children and their healing. I hope the entire community will keep them in their hearts.”
