Arcadia Community Coordinating Council presents speaker April Verlato – February 6
Have you ever wondered what the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments is and what they do? You are not alone. Join April Verlato at the Arcadia Community Coordinating Council on Monday, February 6, 2023 as she speaks about the organization and the impact it has on the community of Arcadia.
Mayor Pro Tem April Verlato was elected to her first term on City Council in April 2016 and re-elected to a second term in April 2020. She served as Mayor of Arcadia, April 2019-April 2020. She also serves as the delegate to the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments for the City of Arcadia and sits on its Executive Committee as 3rd Vice President as well as serving on the Homelessness Committee.
April was born and raised in Arcadia. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA and a law degree from Southwestern School of Law. She took over her father’s law practice located in the heart of Downtown Arcadia on Huntington Drive between Santa Anita and First Avenue in 2000. She continues to practice law in the areas of Personal Injury and Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Litigation.
Mayor Pro Tem Verlato is a founding member and former President of the Downtown Arcadia Improvement Association (2012-present), a Community Benefits District focused on promoting and revitalizing Downtown Arcadia. She Chairs the Holiday Fair, the Halloween Haunt and serves on the Patriotic Festival Committee. These annual events have become a hallmark of the Downtown Arcadia experience and provide community participation and activities.
