Make a splash: Chamber offers Ribbon Cuttings and Grand Openings

Ribbon cuttings and grand opening ceremonies benefit our Chamber members by generating publicity for their businesses.

Requests for a ribbon cutting should be made to the Chamber office four weeks prior to the desired date. This gives invited officials time to add your event to their schedules.  Your Chamber membership also must be current. Please do not schedule a ribbon cutting without checking with the Chamber first, as scheduling conflicts can occur. Chamber staff also does not work weekends, so if you have your event on a weekend, we can loan you our scissors but staff will not be in attendance.

The Chamber notifies and invites representatives from:

  • City of Arcadia: Mayor, Council members, police and fire officials
  • Chamber: Board of Directors, Ambassadors and other Members
  • Elected Officials: (including but not limited to) Congresswoman Judy Chu, Assemblymember Blanca Rubio, County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Senator Susan Rubio

The best days for ceremonies are Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, between 12pm and 3pm. Other time frames can be accommodated on request, given proper lead time of 4 weeks prior to the event. The host business is encouraged to provide refreshments, and invite additional guests, including friends, neighboring businesses, customers, vendors, press, etc.

Your event will be listed on the Chamber web site for all to see, as well as Facebook and Twitter. Please let us know if you are doing anything special for your event, such as performers, or giveaways/raffle drawings, so we can help promote the event.

The Chamber will promote your event (before and after) and coordinate presentations from officials for the ribbon cutting and certificates of congratulations.
