Arcadia Library Children’s Celebrate Spring Reading, Science
February 28, 2020 – Arcadia Public Library’s Children’s Department is offering two fun (and educational) activities for children starting in mid-March. On Saturday, March 14, at 3 pm, children ages 3 to 5 years old can enjoy a “Science Story Craft and Play Date.” Preschoolers can listed to a science story, make a craft inspired by the story, and then stay and play with friends.
On Saturday, March 21, at 3 pm, older children—in the third to fifth grades—can attend a fascinating “Sharkology” program, where they can learn about sharks through guided research, exploratory activities, and hands-on crafting.
From Saturday, March 14, to Saturday, April 18, kids ages 3 to 14 years can submit their entries into the Library’s annual Bookmark Contest. Children can stop by the Jerry Broadwell Children’s Room to pick up their entry forms and submit their bookmark design before Saturday, April 18, at 5:30 pm. The best bookmark will be featured during the Library’s Summer at Arcadia Public Library program.
Starting on Saturday March 21, children from 4 to 14 can register for the Library’s Spring Reading Program—it’s the perfect warm-up for Summer at Your Library fun! Once children register, they can earn a reading reward (up to two) for each five books they read. The program ends on Saturday, April 25.
