Arcadia’s Field of Honor – 2016
What is Arcadia’s “Field of Honor” all about?
- 1000 American flags will fly from May 21 to May 29, 2016 at the corner of Santa Anita and Huntington in Arcadia Park
- The “Field” is a community-wide event designed to celebrate patriotism and those who are of have been special in our lives
- Laminated cards will be attached to each flag, showing the honoree and donor, plus a photo if you wish
- The entire community is invited to the opening ceremony on May 21
- All funds raised go to charity and flag purchases are tax deductible
- 2/3 of proceeds go to Rotary charites: Teacher Mini-grants, Boy & Girl Scouts, polio eradication, Students & Teacher of the Month honors, clean water projects, etc.
Building the Veteran’s Memorial
1/3 of the proceeds will be used to build a veteran’s memorial in Arcadia.
It is expected to take three years to raise sufficient funds for the memorial.
Flags are $50.00. You may honor anyone you wish:a veteran, a loved one, someone who has had a significant influence on your life, in memory of someone, anyone you choose.
