Yesterday, Assemblymember Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park) honored Sandy Rosco as the 2015 “Woman of the Year” for the 49th District during a legislative ceremony held at the Assembly Chambers. The ceremony recognizes women who have made outstanding contributions to California as part of Women’s History Month.
“I am recognizing Sandy, because she has been a staple of the community for so long,” said Assemblymember Chau. “Her passion and experience in working with the business community and many non-profit organizations have strengthened programs and expanded services to numerous cities in the 49th Assembly District.”
Sandy Rosco is the Executive Director for the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce. Her professional career began as a secretary for a prominent law firm in Riverside, California. After several years in the legal field, Sandy decided to become a full-time homemaker. When her daughter began kindergarten, Sandy started her second career in the field of Christian Ministry and Education. After 27 years in that arena, she developed a desire to pursue other non-profit work, and ended up working for the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce.
