Once again just about every Arcadia influencer was seen at the annual Arcadia Firefighters Association Pancake Breakfast the morning of Saturday, May 2 outside of Station 106 on Baldwin Avenue next to Westfield Santa Anita.
Most current and former Mayors, City Council members, and city officials, stopped by the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce booth to say hello, including City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto, who rode his bike all the way from Glendale to participate in the Community Bike Ride that same morning. Mayor Kovacic and his wife Barb were also on their bikes — Mayor Kovacic started the popular community bike ride years ago.
Others stopping by the Chamber booth staffed by Arcadia Chamber CEO Scott Hettrick and his wife Betty and Chamber Deputy Director / Office Manager Bill Hacket, were City Council Members John Wuo and Tom Beck, former Mayors Bob Harbicht and Peter Amundson, as well as Assistant City Manager and Development Services Director Jason Kruckeberg and Police Chief Robert Guthrie.
Former Chamber President Arlynn Robinson and her husband Gary also visited, as well as Lifetime Chamber Ambassador Don Fandry, former Chamber President Lee Shimmin, as did many others. The Chamber was offering coupons for non-Chamber members to purchase Taste of Arcadia tickets for the member price of $45 until May 22.
Other Arcadia Chamber members spotted with booths at the fire fighter event included the Arcadia Chinese Association, New York Life Insurance, Santa Anita Dental, Santa Anita Family YMCA, USC Eye Institute (handing out free previously-owned sunglasses), Methodist Hospital, the Arcadia Police Department, and the Arcadia Historical Society and the vintage police car, the latter booth for which was positioned right next to the Chamber’s.
Other Chamber members were represented with donated raffle prizes, including California Pizza Kitchen, California Philharmonic, Fasching’s Car Wash, and the Los Angeles County Arboretum.
