It was a question posed to Clifford Daniels, Senior VP and Chief Strategist Officer of Methodist Hospital of Southern California, the generated the response, “the goal for the administration and the board is that Methodist Hospital is still here for another 100 years and that they remain an independent source. Plain to see is the fact that Methodist Hospital of Southern California has taken numerous steps which illustrate their dedication to this goal. These efforts have gained recognition from various sources. An example of this is for the third consecutive year Methodist Hospital has received a 5-Star Rating from Medicare. This rating is given to facilities that demonstrate overall hospital quality and places Methodist Hospital among the top 8% of hospitals in the U.S. The hospital has been Ranked Top 1% Nationally for Patient Safety, Quality and Efficiency by the SafeCare Group. This honor recognizes the work Methodist Hospital has done to generate low rates of infection, complications, and readmissions.
Clifford Daniels elaborated on the comprehensive care that can be received at Methodist Hospital of Southern California by remarking that they essentially do everything but transplants. The hospital is always expanding their level of care. Clifford mentioned that by the end of April they are hoping to open their new Joint and Spine unit. This feature will allow patients of joint replacement and spine fusion to get specialized care from trained staff. In order to prepare for the opening of this unit the team at Methodist Hospital recruited and further trained an experienced team of specialty nurses that could address any concerns. With the addition of Dr. Kok Chye (KC) Tan to the roster of skilled doctors Methodist Hospital is looking to be accredited as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Overall the goal of Methodist Hospital is to create an institution that will be seen as a full service community resource which can offer a variety of services to its patients. For more information on the team please visit their website at https://www.methodisthospital.org/
