Opening day of Breeders’ Cup and Hallowe’en come together from 12 noon – 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, as the City of Arcadia and Santa Anita Park offer themed activities for children and world championship horse racing for parents.
A free “Fright Day” on the infield of the track for children under 14 and Arcadia residents with valid resident ID will include trick-or-treating at more than 15 vendor booths of Arcadia Chamber business members and activities such as carnival rides and games, pumpkin painting, pony rides, music with themed performances, Haunted Maze, bounce houses, and more.
Costumes are encouraged but no full face masks for adults 14 and over. Winners will be named for Breeders’ Cup Best Dressed.
Among the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce members with booths will be Achieve S.M.A.R.T. Goals; Arcadia Association of Realtors; Arolyn Burns CHt., LMFT; Beacon Media News/Arcadia Weekly; Costco Wholesale; Cruise Planners; Longo Toyota-Scion-Lexus; Massage Envy; National University; Robusto Cigars; Shave It Nation; T-Neer; Urban Retreat; Verengo Solar; and Waddell & Reed.
Enter at the infield entrance at Gate 6 on Colorado Place. Parking is $10. Entrance to the grandstands will require a separate ticket purchase, but the races can be seen and enjoyed from the infield. Breeders’ Cup horse racing championships is a two-day event that concludes on Saturday, Nov. 1.
