Dozens turned out for the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s ribbon-cutting today of the new Pro Image Sports story relocated from its location on the north end of the Westfield Santa Anita mall since 1996 to the far south end of the mall next to Macy’s and across from California Pizza Kitchen.
But the real story was an inspirational one in which the recently-widowed Daisy Rivas and her three teenage children have stepped up to fill the shoes of their entrepreneurial and much-admired father and husband Edgar to see through the major undertaking of opening this much larger and modernized store and continue managing their family business of Rivas Sports Inc. that includes six other Pro Image stores.

Daisy received an Arcadia Chamber member plaque from Chamber President-Elect Vicki Knight of Century Rooter Service & Plumbing and certificates of congratulations from Arcadia Mayor Gary Kovacic and the representatives of Congresswoman Judy Chu and state Assembly Member Ed Chau. Mayor Kovacic offered heartfelt sympathy and admiration for Daisy and the support of her children, Alyssa, Samantha and Christopher.
Daisy invited her longtime store manager Cameron to join her in cutting the ribbon and taking celebratory photos.
