Join Carol Libby of the Arcadia Historical Society for a Tea and Vintage Fashion Show on March 11, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Arcadia Community Center: 365 Campus Dr., Arcadia.
Models will showcase fashions from different time periods and genres. Shianne Allen and baby will portray Pocahontas, with Val Bebezenko as a Puritan and Julie French as Martha Washington.
Joyce Saunders will display a Renaissance gown, while Joyce Platt and Shirley Bane will showcase themselves as Gibson Girls.
Julie French will then change into a Victorian gown, with Connie Russell showing off a turn-of-the-century wedding gown. Tea gowns, specifically in the Edwardian style, will be worn by Chris Ohrmund, Bev Street and Carol Howard, while Shianne serves tea. Char Wong will then show off a cream and ivory gown, hat and gloves.
Flappers Connie Russell, Shirley Bane and Bev Street will parade their garb while Shianne serves champagne. Then Chris Ohrmund will portray the famous local, Anita Baldwin.
Val Bebezenko will return in a Battenberg Ensemble, followed by Joyce Platt in a black beaded, fur cape. Shianne will then show off her fortune telling talents as a gypsy.
The Red Cross uniform of World War II will be shown off by Chris Ohrmund, and Mary Hansen, Val Bebezenko and Bev Street will be adorned in various coats. A black velvet gown with fur will be worn by Carol Howard, along with a hat, and Connie Russell will finish off the event in a red Michael Novarese gown with white fur piece.
