The County of Los Angeles is regularly updating resources on COVID-19 to meet the multi-cultural & linguistic needs of our County’s most diverse communities. In an effort to keep you and yours informed, we share the following:
The 2020 Census in Your Language
Earlier this week we shared how COVID-19 has pointed to an increasing need for County residents to complete the 2020 Census. The COVID-19 crisis is an example of how important federal funding is to maintaining a strong local health care system. Given this reality, LA County has sounded an alarm over the current low census response rates which are putting the County at risk of losing critical funding.
Help us sound the alarm – in your language. With your help, we can improve the County’s response rate by completing the census before the October 31 deadline!

Complete the Census Online
Yes, the 2020 census has never been easier to complete. While LA County residents work hard to meet the 100% participation goal, we take this moment to remind you of the multi-lingual resources available to you through LA County’s 2020 Census Website AND the U.S. Census Website:
- LA County 2020 Website: LA County’s Census website offers county-specific information & support in 16 languages. Visit census.lacounty.gov (link opens in new tab) to complete the census form in your language of choice.
- U.S. Census 2020 Website: the U.S. Census website offers general census information & in-language guides in 59 languages. Visit 2020census.gov/en (link opens in new tab) to complete the census form in your language of choice.
Complete the Census by Phone
To complete your census form over the phone in English, call 844-330-2020. If, however, you’d like to help your friends or family complete the census in another language, refer to these:

Remember, completing the census is private. Responses are protected by federal law, specifically Title 13 of the United States Code. They cannot be shared with any other government agencies or other entities, including your landlord.

Example: To select the motion graphic titled “Gathering in groups can STILL put everyone at risk of infection” in Armenian, you’ll want to:
- Place your cursor over the link found at the bottom of the Armenian column (highlighted by the blue arrow) to reveal a drop-down menu.
- Once the drop-down menu appears, click on the copy icon (highlighted by the red arrow) to copy the link that allows you to download our motion graphic for free!

Keeping 6 ft apart when greeting others protects yourself and everyone around you. Help slow the spread and chose to wave from a distance and avoid close contact with others.
