Supporting the Altadena Community
As part of the entertainment during the event, the Melodia Mariposa Brass Quintet performed a wonderful high energy set including Bésame Mucho, Piazzolla Tangos and other popular selections. Melodia Mariposa volunteers, Susan Hubert and Dorn Trask let the community know about our upcoming free concerts!
Ticket Giveaway for Members
We received four table tickets for the Pasadena Pops concert on July 25th. After a brief sweepstake, the two lucky winners were Arlene Withers and Tarrie Mercer! They and their guests enjoyed a wonderful night of music and fun under the stars.

As you can see, our very own Irina Voloshina was playing in the Pops orchestra that night and Supervisor Kathryn Barger conducted the national anthem.
Member’s thank you concert – Sept 20th
Save the Date
When you become a member of Melodia Mariposa we say thank you with a number of great perks! The most important is our Annual Member’s Party.
This year it will be held again in Altadena and we will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the USA with an Americana theme.
Sean and Sara Watkins are founding members of the Grammy-winning bluegrass band, Nickel Creek. They will perform, with friends, a selection of traditional folk and bluegrass.
Invitations will be sent in September to all active members, so check your membership is in good standing or join now.
