The cheapest tickets available to this year’s Taste of Arcadia will only be available for 90-minutes during the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s August 21 Networking Breakfast, sponsored by Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary. And a trio of Brazilian dancers in full feathery costumes will be there to entertain you.
Tickets, which will cost $75 at the gate on September 22 and are available to Arcadia Chamber members for $50 in advance and $70 for non-members, will be sold to any attendee of the Networking Breakfast for only $40.
The main presentation during the program will be the first official sneak preview of all the exciting new and returning activities coming to Taste of Arcadia 2014, including Daniela Brazil and two of the other six Oya Samba Brazil dancers, who will perform at Taste. A free pair of tickets to Taste of Arcadia (value $150) will also be donated during a free business card raffle at the end of the Breakfast program.
This month’s tribute to an Arcadia Business Icon will be presented to Monty Cleaners, 1004 S Baldwin Ave., by the Chamber in partnership with the Arcadia Historical Society. The Arcadia Business Icon recognition pays tribute to longstanding businesses in Arcadia for their ongoing contribution to the financial health of the City and to the historical cultural fabric of the community. Monty Cleaners owners David and Anna Hyun are celebrating 30 years of serving Arcadia and surrounding communities such as Temple City, Pasadena, Monrovia, Sierra Madre, and San Marino with professional dry cleaning, custom laundry services and tailoring. Come out and join your industry peers for a morning of breakfast and networking from 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. in the Sunset Room at the Santa Anita Golf Course.
The guest speakers will include CTO (Chief Taste Officer), Bruce McCallum; Business Showcase committee chairperson Vicki Night; Food vendor committee chair Sylvia Ramos; and several others. Taste of Arcadia and the Business Showcase at the Taste is expected to draw about 1,500 attendees this year who enjoy the many different foods at no additional charge beyond the admission ticket from more than 40 of the most exciting restaurants, caterers and wine-and-beer vendors. Taste of Arcadia 2014 and Business Showcase at the Taste will be held from 5:30 p.m – 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22 at the Los Angeles County Arboretum, 301 N. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia. As always, attendees of the Networking Breakfast (third Thursday of each month), sponsored by Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary, not only enjoy a great breakfast buffet and valuable networking with dozens of others, but also introduce themselves one at a time with a 30-second “elevator pitch.” In addition, they have a chance to win one of multiple gifts donated by members and attendees for a business card drawing, one of which is a free three-minute Business Spotlight, this month by last month’s winner, Sue Cook of Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation.
Tickets to the breakfast, which runs from 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m., are $20 in advance ($25 at the door) and discounted to $15 for Chamber members who pay at least two days in advance ($20 at the door for Chamber members). No charge for those holding a Chamber All Access Pass. Tickets: 626-447-2159 or in the “Shop” area at www.ArcadiaCaChamber.org, or at Chamber office, 388 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia, during regular business hours.
