National Night Out: Strengthening Community Ties and Enhancing Safety
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Started in 1984 by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), this event encourages residents to turn on their porch lights and gather with neighbors to foster a sense of community and partnership with local law enforcement.
Bringing police and community members together builds trust and mutual respect, leading to better communication and cooperation year-round.
