The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce spent the May edition of Pop Up Happy Hour enjoying the delicious food and drinks at the Diplomat, a fabulous Mediterranean focused restaurant conveniently located in Old Town Monrovia. The bar is popular with the local community, with lots of regulars (including many of our own Chamber members!), and it was a popular spot this Tuesday, May 22nd.
The Diplomat played host to around 25 of the Arcadia Chamber’s members and prospective members, who dined on kabobs, hummus and the famed baklava. The whiskey selection is beyond compare, and drinks are prepared with excellent craftsmanship. The bar area makes for a great place to sit and chat with friends, and the long, communal style tables create a fun atmosphere. One can also sit at some of the tables in the adjacent room or along the side walls, for a more private experience.
Owner Joey Kouchakian has been involved in many restaurants over the years (he also owns and runs the local burger and beer venue 1776, right around the corner from the Diplomat), and he can often be found in the Diplomat, fully involved in the running of the restaurant. But he will also take time to chat with customers and interact on a friendly level with staff. It is this type of service that made the Diplomat a perfect spot for Happy Hour for the Chamber, but it is also this style service that keeps the Diplomat a local hot spot. The Diplomat is open for lunch and dinner, with specials happening often throughout the week. Stop in for good food and great people!
