Through Darkness, Light and Shadow – Free Concert with Melodia Mariposa
Our next concert will be on Saturday May 23rd at 7pm. We are delighted to be joined again by the amazing Lyris Quartet for a concert featuring a fascinating mix of composers, old and new.
This vibrant program features composers spanning several centuries including Altadena’s own Savannah Jo Lack – with a piece written after the Eaton Fire – alongside Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Caroline Shaw. Works by Benjamin Britten and Beethoven round out the program. Blending fresh contemporary voices with timeless masterworks, the evening provides a journey of moods—somber, playful, and ultimately profound—drawing the listener from reflection to intensity.
The concert will be held is the Neighborhood Unitarian Church on Orange Grove, Pasadena and as it is smaller than our other venues, space will be more limited than usual, so please only book a free ticket if you know you can come!
Free tickets will be available on May 10th – mark your calendar!
