Updates from your community’s humane society
Kitten Week, 4/23-4/29
Miniature tiger sharks are expected to make landfall in Pasadena this April as Kitten Season 2018 washes ashore. Every year, animal shelters around the country are flooded with young, homeless kittens during the spring and summer months. To help prepare for the arrival of thousands of young, orphaned kittens, we’re launching “Kitten Week,” a week-long awareness and action campaign to encourage community members to spay/neuter, adopt and get involved. Includes free spay/neuter for eligible felines, 2-for-1 cat adoptions, a special foster parent volunteer orientation, an online donation drive and more!

Pet of the Week: Inez
Inez (A452468) is a sweet 8-year-old rat terrier mix. She is the definition of a lap dog. She loves your warmth and affection, and enjoys being petted. She greets every visitor with a wagging tail and enjoys the treats the volunteers give her. Inez came to us a few weeks ago from a partner shelter. She is looking for a new loving home. View all of our adoptable pets at pasadenahumane.org/adopt.
In the Shelter Shop
Flea season is here and the PHS Shelter Shop has got your pet covered. We sell a variety of flea prevention products for dogs and cats, including topical flea applications, the Seresto flea collar and more! Speak with your veterinarian about which flea prevention products are best for your pet.
Each week PHS President/CEO Julie Bank writes about animal welfare issues affecting our community. She brings you stories that highlight the human-animal bond, as well as pet care and wellness information, and the inside scoop on upcoming events, PHS programs and services. The blog posts originally appeared as part of Julie’s weekly column for the Pasadena Star News and San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Read it at pasadenahumane.org/blog.
