Nearly 60 guests crowded the patio on February 13th, which was conveniently decorated for Valentine’s Day, for this month’s edition of the MIX. Despite the chilly evening, guests enjoy amazing dishes prepared by the Four Seasons Tea Room‘s proprietor, Rosa Jaime. Rosa’s culinary expertise is well rounded, not just encompassing the specs of traditional English tea, which is served at her Sierra Madre tea house on a daily basis. Rosa’s traditional dishes included Brussels spouts, a roasted veggie platter, and deviled eggs with fried caper flowers, all served alongside her tea sandwiches of egg salad, cucumber and more. New to Rosa’s menu is a cheese platter consisting of brie, Stilton, salami and figs. There was even a chocolate fountain with strawberries and multiple varietals of wine for guests to enjoy.
Arcadia Chamber CEO Karen Mac Nair, alongside Embassy Suites‘ Naomi Briones drew business cards for raffle prizes. Christine Lee from New York Life Eagle Strategies won a coffee mug from Arcadia Police Department’s community services office, Mike Vercillo. Carmen Richardson of Chef Carmen’s 3C’s won a bottle of wine donated by John Sun of Budget Blinds San Gabriel. And Kate Sancer, also of New York Life, won a pair of tickets to the Arcadia Performing Arts Center’s Beatles Tribute Night on February 17th, donated by the APAC. Kirk Smith of the Altadena Florist donated a beautiful Valentine’s floral arrangement, as well.
Guests enjoyed networking and good conversation well past the usual mixer end time of 7 pm, and though the evening turned colder, guests remained on the patio. Rosa showed her caring spirit when draping chilly guests with shawls, and the last remaining guests trickled out at nearly 9 pm.
