Waste Management has developed a recycling education campaign called RecycleOften.RecycleRight. Part of this campaign is to dispel myths people may have about what is or isn’t recyclable.
Recycling MythBuster:
Paper cups and plates have a plastic or waxed coating that does now break down during the re-pulping process at paper mills. The plastic lids typically used on these cups are not recyclable either (event if they have the recycling symbol on them).
