Westfield Santa Anita‘s Winter Wonderland and Holiday of Trees, benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills, kicked off Sunday (Nov. 17) with a huge crowd gathered and standing in line for the holiday dessert bar and to see Santa’s real reindeer Donner and Blitzen well before the 4 p.m. opening of the activities that will continue for the next six or seven weeks through the holidays.
Kids and parents also enjoyed the first-time ice skating rink not far from the giant Christmas tree, all while a live deejay played fun and upbeat holiday music and an ice sculpture prepared to start carving two giant ice blocks.
The first snow of the season was to fall on the promenade at 4:45 and every 45-minutes thereafter, along with the lighting of the tree. (See photo gallery below…)[flagallery gid=157]
