If you haven’t visited the D’Aquino warehouse at 1850 Business Center Drive in Duarte you too would have been as pleasantly surprised as the 60 or so guests who discovered the secret tasting room hidden at the back. Full of fine Italian wine and memorabilia, including Andrea Bocelli’s piano (known as the Lamborghini of pianos), the D’Aquino family has created a comfortable space for tasters and visitors. Decorated in warm wood, with photos and statues filling the walls, the D’Aquino wine tasting room has been rumored to hold over a hundred guests at a time. It is also known that Andrea Bocelli himself has visited and played his piano to entertain guests.
Guests on this night were treated to tastes of the D’Aquino branded chianti, moscato, nero d-avalo and a prosecco. There were also snacks and an enormous wheel of Parmesan cheese to compliment the wine choices. Fabrizio Renna treated guests to a tour of ‘secret’ board rooms and showed off the D’Aquino vintage cars. Upstairs one could find Tony Bennett’s piano, as well.
If you don’t categorize yourself as a wine drinker, D’Aquino also has a line of premium coffee. If coffee isn’t your thing, try their balsamic vinegar. Gift boxes are available online, but the majority of their products can be found at various retailers across the valley, most well known being Trader Joe’s.
The D’Aquino family has been providing the best in Italian wines to America for 45 years. Gaetano D’Aquino hails from Sicily and came to the United States in 1967. Now, D’Aquino wines are distributed in 22 states plus Mexico and Canada.
Whether you consider yourself a wine connoisseur or are new to wine, the D’Aquino line has something for everyone – from dry to sweet, in both red and white, with all the in betweens. The wine tasting room can also be rented for parties.
