Winter Reading Challenge and More at Arcadia Library!
December 13, 2022 – Everyone can find fun and engaging things to do with Arcadia Public Library this holiday season! From Monday, December 19 to Saturday, January 7, adults, teens, and children can take the Winter Break Reading Challenge. For every five hours the community reads, another piece is added to the friendly reading snowman. It’s easy, entertaining, and lets everyone enjoying reading and being part of a community project. All ages can also join the “Wish Upon a Star Community Project.” The Arcadia Public Library is hosting a community project to collect and display 2,023 folded paper stars, with wishes for the Arcadia community. Everyone can take part in the project by writing a wish for Arcadia on paper, then folding it into a paper star and donating it to the Library’s Jerry Broadwell Children’s Room for display in glass jars.
Donors may use a paper of their choosing and contribute as many folded stars as they like. Donations will be accepted through Tuesday, January 31, 2023, and will become the property of the Arcadia Public Library.
Need something fun and educational for the kids to do while school is on break? The Arcadia Public Library’s Jerry Broadwell Children’s Room is offering free Winter Activity Kits for some winter fun at home. Each kits contains a craft, activity sheet, as well as a reading list for some great winter reads.
They are designed for kindergarten to 2nd grades, 3rd to 5th grades, and 6th to 8th grades. Kits will be available Monday, December 19 through Friday, December 23, 2022, and Tuesday, December 26 through Friday, December 30, 2022, while supplies last.
