Vicki Knight and her team at Century Rooter are ready to help you with all of your plumbing needs. She is part of a professional/family owned business located right here in our local community. They offer prompt, courteous service and have seen a steady increase in business over the past seven years. Vicki indicates that participating in Chamber events is a win-win for everyone. She has gained dozens of new clients through her attendance and volunteering at Chamber events.
Ivan Lai of Cruise Planners indicates that February is one of the busiest months for booking cruises. Ivan had a very good year of business last year and wants the trend to continue upwards.
Sylvia Ramos is a Realtor and is the California Association of Realtors Director for Housing and a regional Rep for Region 13 along the Foothills. She provided important legislative updates impacting the industry and consumers. Sylvia had a number of properties in escrow in January so the year is off to great start.
Mark Ramos indicates his business at Vista Paint was up again last year and he continues to get a lot of business from Arcadia institutions Santa Anita Park and Methodist Hospital, the latter of which he had assistance from the Arcadia Chamber in getting connected.
Arcadia City Councilman Sho Tay suggested that in order to avoid some of the animosity being seen in certain neighborhoods about the building of large houses these past few months, better communication amongst neighbors might be helpful. Thus, he would like to encourage more residents to join the Arcadia Chamber, attend events, and even create their own Mixers under the name “Meet Your Neighbors.” Sho and his wife hosted a block party last year that was helpful in this way, but he says neighbors need to meet more frequently.
John Sun indicates that his company Budget Blinds had a great year in 2014. He thanked Vicki Knight for being a third-time returning customer. In addition, John just landed a nice account with Farmer ‘s Insurance thanks to a connection he made through the Arcadia Chamber. John is the perfect example of really networking through Chamber sponsored events.
Allen Tsay, who praised last week’s Arcadia Chamber Business Mixer at Doubletree Hotel as being a perfect mixer where he generated many strong new client leads, gave the group a brief overview of the financial markets. Allen is part of Waddell & Reed and has been a featured speaker at our monthly networking breakfasts at the Santa Anita Golf Course. Allen can advise you and help you invest for your future. Allen is the personal ambassador January and welcomed the new members to the Chamber.
Sheree Tromblee of Weaver & Associates indicates they are off to a very busy year and are integrating a brand new and more effective software system. They have been doing business in Arcadia for years now and are ready to serve the needs of area residents. Sheree is an active ambassador who has helped to reach out to new members.
Daleth Cortes with Custom Comfort Mattress said the Pajama Party Mixer staged last year in conjunction with the Arcadia Chamber generated many new customers who had never visited the shop before, and now want to schedule their own events at the Pasadena store.
Lauren Worsley reported that the kick-off event for the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life event taking place this summer at Santa Anita Park was held last week at Dave & Buster’s at Westfield Santa Anita mall. Lauren indicates she is signing up teams to walk in the event. You can even form a virtual team or just donate funds to show your support!
