Jeanette and Manuel Cabrera
Cabrera’s Mexican Cuisine in Arcadia proved to be a popular location for the Arcadia Chamber’s monthly Love Lunch. A crowd of 37 mixed and mingled while enjoying the wide array of authentic Mexican cuisine Cabrera’s has to offer. The host of the afternoon was founder, Manuel Cabrera himself, and catering director, Jeanette Cabrera soon joined the group, making guests feel right at home.
The first Cabrera’s location opened in 1987 in Arcadia and the family has since expanded to include locations in Duarte and Pasadena. Each venue boasts the same homey feel, dark wood accents with red leather booths and a comfy atmosphere. One can’t go wrong in ordering off the expansive menu, as it has something for everyone, from traditional taco plates to the classic menudo, to salads and a queso fundido dip. They also do catering, and don’t forget to grab a margarita!
Rod Salazar of Stubbies Promotions fondly recalled many a dinner at Cabrera’s, while Chamber President, Vicki Knight of Century Rooter Plumbing noted she eats there quite often. For some, including Chamber staff, this was their first visit to the Arcadia location, which proved to be quite enjoyable. After finishing their meals, all present expressed interest in a return to Cabrera’s for another lunch in the future.
The Love Lunches were created by the Chamber for members and prospective members who love lunch and love getting out of their homes or away from their offices for a chance to relax, meet some new people and network. Attendees are invited to come any time between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month. We meet at a different restaurant each time. You can order what you want, stay as long as you can and pay individually!
We hope to see you at our next Love Lunch at Red Robin at 400 S. Baldwin Ave., Suite #2365, in Arcadia, on April 27.
