The popular Fab Four Beatles tribute band will be back with Cal Phil this summer at the Festival on the Green concerts at Santa Anita Park.
Cal Phil’s 17th season begins June 29, 2013 with a second year of five live orchestra concerts presented by Westfield Santa Anita every other Saturday night at the race track.
The fun-filled family-friendly evenings of activities, gourmet food kicks off with Beatles, Beethoven & Beach Boys, featuring the first special guest appearance by The Fab Four—The Ultimate Tribute, since Cal Phil moved from the Arboretum to Santa Anita. The sound-a-like and look-a-like group perform an array of the most famous hit of the Beatles as a group and as solo artists while featuring multiple costume changes representing various eras.
Cal Phil Maestro Victor Vener and his world class orchestra bookend the Fab Four with an unforgettable interpretation of Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony and powerful performances of Beach Boys classics such as Good Vibrations, I Get Around, and California Girls.

The rest of the summer schedule:
- Andrew Lloyd Webber Meets Puccini for the season’s second concert on July 13. Singers Lori Stinson, Christopher Campbell and Cedric Berry, along with the Cal Phil Chorale, who are prepared by Chorus Maestra Marya Basarba, lend their impeccable voices to such acclaimed musical masterpieces as Phantom of the Opera, La Boheme, Evita, Sunset Blvd. and Tosca. as well as Nessun Dorma from Turandot.
- Dance Fever on Saturday July 27, features tributes to Elvis, Abba and Michael Jackson, alongside pieces that highlight members of the orchestra. Rounding out the program are Dance of the Seven Veils, Romeo andJuliet, Hava Nagila and Ritual Fire Dance.
- Rodgers, Hammerstein and Gershwin are on the bill for August 10, with in-demand special guests including sensational Broadway stars Kim Huber and James Barbour and mesmerizing pianist Bryan Pezzone. The spectacular San Gabriel Mountains will come alive with songs from The Sound Of Music, Oklahoma!, South Pacific and Carousel, as well as performances of Gershwin’s Rhapsody In Blue and An American in Paris.
- Cal Phil delivers an enthralling season finale with Les Miz and Bernstein on Saturday August 24. Singers Randal Keith and Melissa Lyons, stars of Les Misérables on Broadway and the National Tour, join Cal Phil and the Cal Phil Chorale with selections of Les Miz and Candide as well as On The Town and Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.

For those who can’t attend Cal Phil’s Saturday concerts, Sunday matinees at the incomparable Walt Disney Concert Hall are the perfect option. Celebrating its 10th anniversary at Los Angeles’ premier music venue, Cal Phil at Walt Disney Concert Hall Sunday performances start at 2 p.m, with the standing room only pre-concert Talks with the Maestro beginning at 1 p.m.
