On March 22nd, the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce joined forced with the Monrovia Chamber to officially ‘reveal’ the brand new Areum Apartments located on the corner of Huntington and Fifth, right on the border of the two cities. The running joke between the two cities is that, while located in Monrovia, Arcadia provided the ‘fire water,’ though not the alcoholic type. So if there is a need, the City of Arcadia will provide the water. Areum recently opened to tenants, sporting studio, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, and at the time of the reveal was at 75% capacity. The building is within walking distance of Monrovia’s famed ‘Restaurant Row,’ and is close enough to the Gold Line Station for residents to feel close to Downtown LA. The convenience of this location, plus the pet-friendly atmosphere (the leasing office includes a ‘biscuit buffet’), has made Areum Apartments a draw. Not only that, but residents get their own login to the building’s website, where they can contact maintenance, speak with management or just engage with the community.
Members of both Chambers, residents and community members alike gathered in the lobby of the Areum Apartments to mix and mingle before certificates were presented by Monrovia Mayor Tom Adams, Arcadia Chamber Vice-President Romy Rahmanian, Sandra Maravilla of Supervisor Kathryn Barger’s office, Arcadia Ambassador John Sun and more. Afterwards, beneath a tent protecting them from the oncoming rain, guests gathered to cut the ribbon in dramatic fashion, using both Arcadia’s and Monrovia’s novelty scissors. The party then moved back indoors to network and tour the building and rooms, all while appetizers from Chefelle circled the room. DJ John Villa of Dance Syndicate kept the music lively.
Areum Apartments boasts a state-of-the-art fitness center, a ‘fire lounge’ and a ‘social lounge’ complete with pool table, pool and spa plus lounge chairs, 24 hour maintenance and more. Areum is managed by Fairfield Residential. If you are interested in applying for an apartment, you can visit their website and fill in an application.
