Two dragons wound there way through the entire Westfield Santa Anita mall Saturday, including through a Chinese gate underneath a 120-foot dragon hanging in center court, before heading up the escalator and out to the Promenade and the south end stage area to greet hundreds of people gathered for the Lunar New Year entertainment festivities.
Lines of patrons gathered to enjoy activities like arts and crafts, calligraphy, and have their photos taken for hours Saturday afternoon, while the Arcadia Chinese Association provided live entertainment, including rows of men and women led by Chamber board member Edward Wong dancing “Gangnam Style.” The ACA portion of entertainment was emcee’d by Francine Chiu of Chamber sponsor Rose Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary and Aaron Rose, who recently opened his own school and speaks fluent Chinese, and who will be managing the volunteers for Taste of Arcadia this year.
