Four new members of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce introduced themselves to Chamber Ambassadors and Chamber CEO Scott Hetttrick today, April 1, 2014.
At the monthly meeting run by new Ambassadors chairman Rich Jones of the San Marino Tribune, Personal Ambassador Mary Hansen welcomed and presented Yvonne Liao of First General Bank, Don Cruz and Debi of Savers super thrift store, Jessica Schoenfeld of Urban Retreat and recently retired residential member Donna Lee. - First General Bank, 1127 S. Baldwin Ave., is a full service commercial bank with emphasis on developing a business and professional clientele within the Southern California area. The bank offers a full range of traditional and online consumer and commercial banking products and cash management services for businesses and individuals. The main office is in Rowland Heights with branch offices in Arcadia, San Gabriel and Irvine.
- Savers Arcadia had one of the biggest grand openings in the for-profit franchise’s history on March 6 with about 150 anxious customers lined up before the doors even opened. The thrift story and recycling center founded in 1954 is based in Northern California. The new Arcadia location employs 50-60 local workers. Savers mission is giving back and providing opportunities. They are partners with local charities such as Hope Services and Epilepsy Foundation. Donations of clothing and housewares can be dropped off at their store or schedule a free at-home pick up.
- Urban Retreat, 14 E. Foothill Blvd., is a full-service salon and spa in Arcadia that has offered a large variety of message and facial services for more than 15 years. The spa that focuses on personal attention with an emphasis on providing the length and quality of massage needed rather than setting a specific length of time for each, is offering $20 discount coupons for a one-hour Swedish massage available at the Chamber office.
- Donna Lee is a new residential member who has lived in Arcadia since 2004 and was an employee of Southern California Edison for more than 30 years. She enjoys and supports local events in town, especially the Chamber’s annual Taste of Arcadia. She encouraged her son Kevin to be a volunteer intern at the Chamber last summer.
