The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce Love Lunch got its kicks on Route 66 today at Rod’s Grill. Rod’s is a classic American diner that serves up delicious, hearty portions of food. Arcadia Chamber CEO Scott Hettrick noted that an episode of “Mad Men” was even shot here! The restaurant located at 41 W. Huntington Drive in Arcadia is a proud member of the Chamber and an important part of the heart and soul of Arcadia. The monthly Love Lunch is sponsored by The Law Offices of Hart, Mieras & Morris, Inc.

Rod’s Grill owner Manuel “Manny” Romero welcomed everyone to the lunch and to his restaurant thanked the Chamber for choosing his restaurant for such a fun networking experience. He was thrilled when Scott asked for a show of hands that revealed more than half the crowd were being introduced to Rod’s for the first time and most said they were happy to discover it and would return. Manny and his team were so very gracious and welcoming, just as they are day-in and day-out at Rod’s. Every dish was so delicious, including the sloppy joe’s, which are a favorite of many of us at the Chamber of Commerce. City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto just happened to drop by for lunch as he does often, and said hello to the extra crowd. Many enjoyed breakfast which is served all day!
The Love Lunches were created by the Arcadia Chamber for members and prospective members who love lunch and love getting out of their homes or away from their office for a chance to relax and meet some new people and network. Attendees are invited to come anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at a different restaurant each time. Order what you want and pay individually. The next Love Lunch will be held on Wednesday, July 22 at The FrontRunner located at Santa Anita Race Track. Please note for The FrontRunner there will be a fixed $20.00 fee that will be all inclusive. This is a great deal for such a special and fabulous restaurant with a beautiful view of the track and mountains!
