On Wednesday, August 27th, the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce headed to the Santa Anita Park’s famous FrontRunner restaurant for their monthly Love Lunch. Opened in 1999, the FrontRunner sports the best panoramic view of the majestic San Gabriel Mountains one can find. The restaurant features a 215 foot bar and a menu that changes seasonally. It proudly states it is ‘among the best ways to experience the beauty and excitement of a day at Santa Anita Park.’
Around 60 guests from multiple Chambers enjoyed salads and sandwiches from the FrontRunner’s classic menu. Though racing was not in season, guests got a special tour of the race track grounds after lunch, including areas such as the Chandelier Room and Director’s Room, lead by Special Events Coordinator, Elizabeth Booth. The tour not only showcased some of the history of the track, including a wallpaper panel in the Director’s Room that dates to 1914, but also took guests into a secret bar hidden away behind the Chandelier Room; a perfect space for an intimate gathering. Guests also were able to go into one of the exclusive box seating areas.
The Love Lunches were created by the Arcadia Chamber for members and prospective members who love lunch and love getting out of their homes or away from their office for a chance to relax and meet some new people and network. Attendees are invited to come anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at a different restaurant each time. Order what you want and pay individually. The next Love Lunch will be on Wednesday, August 23rd, at EMC Seafood – 400 S Baldwin, #2215 in the new Food Alley at Westfield Santa Anita.
