It started a year ago with the clever modification of the name of the longstanding MD’s Florist at the corner retail center at Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue to be called Majestic Design.
On the first anniversary of that beginning this morning, Saturday, April 25, more than 40 attendees of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting saw a majestic transformation of the shop to a beautifully elegant boutique that offers the most stunning bouquets and floral arrangements for any occasion.

Arcadia Chamber CEO Scott Hettrick introduced owners Jean Mendoza and Steven Preciado, who welcomed everyone and thanked food vendors Dogfellaz (Arcadia Chamber member) and Berg Catering for providing free food for attendees. Scott praised Steven and Jean for the quality of their product as well as their smart, pro-active and enthusiastic marketing, providing the gorgeous centerpieces for the VIP tables at the Chamber’s Taste of Arcadia last September, participating in the Arcadia’s Best Foundation’s Christmas Market last December on First Avenue in Downtown Arcadia, and their everyday service such as fulfilling the Chamber’s recent request for coordinating an appropriate arrangement to be delivered to the funeral of the mother of a staff member in Rhode Island.
Scott also noted that the pair opened a second shop in South Pasadena in January and that Steven is partners in the Long Beach-based Dogfellaz hot dogs and sausage food service, which is also a popular Taste of Arcadia participant. Attendees enjoyed a selection from a Dogfellaz cart at the event today, including a delicious turkey dog.
Arcadia Chamber President-Elect Vicki Knight of Century Rooter Service and Plumbing presented the pair with a Chamber member plaque, followed by a certificate of appreciation by Arcadia City Council Member Sho Tay. Downtown Arcadia Improvement Association President attorney April Verlato presented a certificate on behalf of Congresswoman Judy Chu.
Sandy Rosco, Executive Director of the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce, along with San Gabriel Chamber member Nickie Chan of LifeWave presented a member plaque and certificates from the Chamber and on behalf of Assembly Member Ed Chau, who lives in Arcadia, and on behalf of L.A. County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
Also in attendance were Lifetime Arcadia Chamber Ambassador Don Fandry of the nearby Elks Club, new business owner and Chamber member Lani Lee from Beauty Culture spa, just a few blocks away, as well as Arcadia Historical Society Vice President Carol Libby — the Society is also a Chamber member — and former Arcadia Chamber board member Joan Francone of ORI Global and new Chamber member Donna Lee, also of LifeWave.
Attendees also got to see the debut of a new 60-second video commercial for MD’s, which you can view below…
