Moving Ahead in the Digital Age
Alan November, a renowned leader in education technology and innovation, will be the keynote speaker for “Moving Ahead in the Digital Age.” This free event is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center located on the campus of Arcadia High School.
“Moving Ahead in the Digital Age” is a great opportunity for parents, students, and educators to learn the latest and most effective trends in education technology. The topics that will be covered include the following: the most effective internet research methods, critical thinking online, utilizing social media for academics, helping your child navigate the internet, and connecting globally with experts and peers.
November is the author of two best-selling books, Empowering Students with Technology and Web Literacy for Educators. He was named one of the nation’s fifteen most influential thinkers of the decade by Technology and Learning magazine. In 2007 he was selected to speak at the Cisco Public Services Summit during the Nobel Prize Festivities in Stockholm, Sweden. November is a highly sought-after speaker who has delivered keynotes and workshops in all fifty states, across Canada, and throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and Central America.
This event is being offered free of charge thanks to the Arcadia Educational Foundation. The first hour will be a presentation by November, then the final 30 minutes will be a question and answer session. This community forum is open to the first 1,000 people on a first-come first-serve basis. No tickets are required.
