The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce is supporting Small Business Saturday® on Nov. 28 by promoting the annual event in yet another effort by the Chamber to strengthen the community by driving more business and bringing attention to local small businesses.
Shop Arcadia!
Please join us in supporting small business by stopping by one of our local merchants and making that purchase here in town — making your purchases in town helps keep sales tax dollars in Arcadia and helps to fund city services and community programs.
You will find many of the best places to eat, play and stay on the Arcadia Chamber’s Visit Arcadia web site and apps for your Apple and Droid mobile devices.
We also have a complete directory by category or name of more than 500 members at the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce web site.
Created by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday serves as the ceremonial kickoff to the holiday shopping season for small businesses across the United States. In 2014, nearly 3,000 Neighborhood Champions rallied local businesses and created events and activities to drive shopping at small businesses around the country. The day was also championed by elected officials in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., including President Obama.
The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of supporting small businesses in the Arcadia area, the jobs they help create, and the culture they instill in local communities. According to the U.S. Small Businesses Administration, as of 2014, small businesses nationwide accounted for 63% of net new private-sector jobs created and represented 99.7% of all employer firms.
Merchants and consumers can learn more about Small Business Saturday and how to get involved by visiting ShopSmall.com and the official Small Business Saturday Facebook page.
